SCHO: Where Fine Jewelry Meets Edge
“Trust your heart if the seas catch fire, live by love, though the stars walk backward.” E.E. Cummings
This poetic quote truly encapsulates the story of SCHO. From humble beginnings, the brand has stormed through challenges and obstacles to rise to where it is today. All through the relentless passion and belief in its design and the expression it brings for the wearer.
Now, it is a well-known name in respected circles, with jewelry that is beautiful, artistic and desirable.
Sarah Cho, Designer
SCHO is the brainchild of Korean designer Sarah Cho.
Born in Incheon, Korea, Sarah became a global citizen at the tender age of 2. She moved to the UK, Kenya, the USA, before finally arriving in Paris, France to study at the renowned Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, where she graduated in 2009.
Since then, she catapulted into her career with fiery energy.
She worked with prestigious designer brands, Balenciaga, Manish Arora and Lanvin, to name a few. She joined competitions that landed her as a finalist for the ITS Competition in 2011. Her submitted collection sparked the interest of SWAROVSKI Elements Crystals, and under their sponsorship, Sarah launched her first collection, ‘Neo Play’ with great success. It was immediately picked up by Le Bon Marche Paris, LuisaViaRoma in Italy, and Lane Crawford HK. ‘Neo Play’ was such a phenomenal success that it received global press recognition and was even featured in VOGUE Italy and Madame Figaro France.
This gave Sarah Cho the recognition she earned for the hard work she put in for her ingenious designs.
The Birth of a Brand
SCHO was launched in the Fall of 2011, and its first collection debuted in March 2012 in Paris, France. It received recognition and high praises from the press and retailers in the fashion industry, and soon SCHO was eponymous to high fashion, fine jewelry and the sophisticated life.
Korean movie stars were sporting SCHO's fine jewelry with not only pride for one of their own rising designers, but also because they loved the unique designs it offered.
Far from being usual and typical, SCHO jewelry is unique, interesting and exciting. Materials, shapes, size - no two designs are the same.

Lee Yoomi was seen wearing the Scho Ariel Twilight Necklace – a bold fluid design that is encased in glass pearls in a sensuous formation. It definitely makes a statement for any look.
This unique quality of SCHO’s jewelry attracted the attention of Hollywood, and became a hot favourite among rising stars. Gina Rodrigues, Florence Pugh, Julia Stiles and Kylie Minogue were some of the few actresses who were fans of the brand and designs.
This led to SCHO’s ever-growing fan-base, and the appreciation of her jewelry multiplied in a matter of years.
Handcrafted by Skilled Artisans
More than just conceptual, SCHO jewelry is made with intricate detail. The pieces are handcrafted in Paris, Seoul, and Rome, under the watchful supervision of the best artisans who have had decades of experience in the industry.
SCHO uses quality materials that bring out its fine handicraft. From high-quality sterling silver to a selection of semi-precious stones found in Africa and South America, SCHO only selects the best materials for its jewelry. SCHO never shies from breaking rules either - it often combines and blends new materials such as acetates, acrylic, electro-plated crystals with natural materials such as pearls, wood, and shells.
Yet one material becomes almost a staple in SCHO jewelry: pearls. Different types of pearls are presented each season: natural pearls, freshwater pearls, cultivated pearls, glass pearls, acrylic pearls, acetate pearls and more. The juxtaposition of the purity and the imperfection of the Pearl has made it the showrunner of SCHO’s collections in the past 10 years. The result is indeed both beguiling and enchanting.
Inspiration in Travel
The inspiration for Sarah’s collections come from her experiences in her years abroad, and exposure to the beautiful cultures, history and elements in those spaces. Her love for the evocative beauty of Namibia is palpable in her work, and she is fearless in mixing themes, materials and colours when she creates. This gives birth to the creation of bold and captivating pieces of art that circumvent and exceed expectations.
SCHO jewelry has also always been led by the chaotic beauty of nature; from the moving silhouettes of the sand dunes, to the froth and ripples of the ocean waves. The signature wavy line and curved shapes are seen throughout SCHO’s collections over the years.
As a metaphor to what the house of SCHO stands for, every one who adorns its jewelry is special and unique. Akin to art, Sarah Cho approaches her designs with an avant-garde eye, and has developed a distinctive signature style that has led to her jewelry being highly sought after all around the world.
